A life dedicated to music

Gabor Meszaros combines excellent instrumental technique with a passion for teaching. The internationally renowned bassoonist is a professor at the Music University “Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana” in Lugano (Switzerland). He has played in symphony orchestras in Switzerland, Spain and Germany, and at the age of 26 became principal bassoonist of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra. He is currently principal bassoonist of the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden.

Thanks to his dedication to music and teaching, he is regularly invited to juries of national and international competitions. In addition to teaching at the Music University, he gives master classes in Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, China, Korea and Switzerland.

Thanks to his teaching methods, some of his students have achieved success in national and international competitions and are active in symphony orchestras.

An important part of his activity at the Music University are the concerts of the wind ensemble, which he conducts and in which he passes on his rich experience in chamber music to the younger generation.

His CD "Music for Bassoon and Piano" entitled "Francia" received excellent reviews. Gabor Meszaros is also the artistic director of the international festival TICINO MUSICA, which attracts more than 300 artists from all over the world every year.
